What Happened?
Microsoft unveiled "Recall", a new AI feature for Copilot+ PCs that takes constant screenshots of your activity to "remember" everything you do on your device. Security experts are calling it a "privacy nightmare."Windows Will Now Watch Your Every Move
How It Works:
Takes snapshots of your screen every few seconds
Uses AI to search your activity (e.g., "Find that PDF I opened last Tuesday")
Stores data locally (but hackers could still access it)
Why People Are Worried:
Could capture passwords, bank details, or private messages
No way to disable it fully on Copilot+ PCs
UK’s data watchdog (ICO) is already investigating
Microsoft’s Response:
Claims data stays on-device and is encrypted
Plans to add "more privacy controls" after backlash
Should You Be Concerned?
If you use a Copilot+ PC – Recall is enabled by default (releases June 18). For regular Windows users – Not available yet, but may expand later.
Expert Take:"This is either a breakthrough in productivity or the biggest corporate surveillance tool ever." –
